Scott Fortune

Scott Fortune is an equity research analyst with ROTH Capital Partners, an investment banking firm that has raised more than $60 billion for small-cap companies and completed over 350 merger, acquisition and advisory assignments. Prior to working with ROTH, he was a portfolio manager and research analyst for Magee Thomson Investment Partners and also worked on the international fund for Duncan-Hurst Capital Management. Before working in money management, he was a founder and vice president of finance for the start-up firm nTrusted. 

Before embracing a finance and investment career, Fortune played volleyball professionally for 10 years. A two-time Olympian with the USA team, he captured the gold (1988) and bronze (1992) medals and served as the captain of the 1992 U.S. Olympic Men’s Volleyball Team.  

Since 1988, Fortune has served on various committees for USA Volleyball. He serves on the Finance & Budget, Audit, and Nominating & Governance Committees for USAV. He also was the volleyball representative for the USOC Athlete Advisory Council for four years. 

Fortune received his MBA from the University of San Diego and his undergraduate degree in economics from Stanford University.
