Provide resources to support U.S. National Teams, athletes and programs to achieve sustained competitive success and pursue their Olympic & Paralympic dreams.

Sport Access & Participation

Prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion by providing support to broaden outreach, expand opportunities and reduce barriers to entry for participation and competition for underprivileged and underrepresented groups.

Accomplishments

Medals

At the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, USA Volleyball’s women’s national teams made history. All three teams – U.S. Women’s Indoor, U.S. Women’s Beach, and U.S. Women’s Sitting – won gold medals. The indoor team won its first gold medal in the history of the program.

Beach Tour

The USA Volleyball Beach Tour created new opportunities for young athletes to play and compete for a bid to the USA Volleyball Beach National Championship.

Competition

Event participation in USA Volleyball events continues to rise and offer more opportunities for junior players.

Beach ParaVolley

Beach ParaVolley was officially recognized by USA Volleyball, and the program accelerated its impact with the establishment of a development center at Hickory Point Beach thanks to a generous grant from the Norelli Family Foundation.

Membership

USA Volleyball membership is at an all-time high with more than 470,000 members in 2021-2022.

Men's and Boys Opportunities

In partnership with the First Point Volleyball Foundation, USA Volleyball invested in the growth of boys and men's volleyball by giving a $1 million grant to the Southern Intercollegiate Athlete Association (SIAC) to help build men’s volleyball programs in historically Black colleges and universities.

NTDP

The National Team Development Program (NTDP) was formed to enhance and streamline the National Team pipeline. NTDP offers opportunities for athletes to receive continuous training and support as they pursue their Olympic and Paralympic dreams.
